The Qingdao International Beer Festival officially kicked off in Laoshan at the Century Square on August 13.

Zhang Xinqi, mayor of Qingdao, as well as counselors of foreign diplomats, delegations from home and abroad, as well as tourists joined the opening ceremony and opened the first barrel of beer of the festival.

With a Hula dance, a beer dance, and a Samba dance, and continuous music, the festival is teeming with passion and joy.

By night, it has become a raucous party with visitors chinking glasses, and toasting each other.  Inebriating drinkers joined performers at stage to sing and dance.

To ensure safety of the festival, organizers have installed 80 security surveillance cameras. Meanwhile, 18 bus routes and 4 shuttle buses will pass the Beer City.

With increasing car ownership in China, organizers have increased parking lots with 3000 new parking spaces.
